Spring Time is Here Again
A friend of mine thinks she is going through the menopause. This has somewhat taken me unawares. I wasn’t thinking about changes such as these. Well not at our age. Having said that I have just turned 44 so I suppose it is to be expected. But it started me think about change generally. Winter is ending unless we get a very unexpected and late “Beast from the East”. I’ll ignore STorm Gavin as he doesn’t appear to be too aggressive, at least not up north. So we welcome Spring and all that that entails. The dafffodils are blossoming merrily and the lambs are coming. What’s not to enjoy about this time of year? We always celebrate New Year, but this is the time of true new beginnings. the greenery starts to grow greener again and the birds and other animals produce their young. I am a creature of routine and habit and I think I don’t like change, but that isn’t really the case. I love the seasons one flowing in to the next. I like to dislike Winter because of the cold and the grey, so that I can embrace Spring with all the promise of the new.
If you don’t enjoy seeing the lambs scampering about, little tails ajiggling, then your heart must be lead. I am always heartened by the resilience of Mother Nature and indeed of the human spirit and how kindness can be shown by strangers. It is a time for optimism. 19 is my lucky number, the year didn’t start off so well, but no looking backwards.
